Seattle, WA - December 1, 2009 - Ambient Insight is proud to announce that Dr. Nancy Harkrider has joined their Board of Advisors. Nancy is an acknowledged expert at translating leading-edge research on learning behavior to practical, performance-based applications. For more than a decade, her work has been focused on Asia.
Nancy’s commitment to finding ways to help people increase their learning led her to pursue doctoral research that investigated the advantages of online communication as an environment for coaching professionals. Nancy was the first Westerner to earn a PhD from Nanyang Technological University in Singapore.
“Nancy’s extensive, on the ground experience in Asia brings a fresh perspective to our international work at Ambient Insight,” said Ambient Insight’s CEO, Tyson Greer. “Her research background makes her eminently suited to collaborate with our company.”
Dr. Nancy Harkrider has 25 years of experience as a learning technology professional and is the executive producer of over 40 media-based learning initiatives. Her American and Asian clients include multinational corporations, health maintenance organizations, universities, and government agencies.
Nancy serves on the senior management team of Knowledge Drivers International (KDI) Asia, a professional training and consulting company based in Singapore that specializes in change practices that help organizations to improve their business capabilities and performance. She is also a partner in Explore Asia, LLC.
KDI uses a proven methodology to implement change solutions, and offers training and consultancy to an impressive list of more than 50 organizations in Asia.
“We worked together at Microsoft on global projects and I feel fortunate to be working with Nancy again,” Greer adds. “She has the capacity to apply both broad and specific thinking to a project, and her insights have always impressed me.”
Nancy is also a partner in Explore Asia LLC, and is responsible for value-added services for the company's tourism customers, alliances, and partners. She is also a frequent speaker at conferences in Asia and the United States
