Ambient Insight is proud to announce that leading information architect Marianne Sweeny has joined their Board of Advisors. Marianne is an award-winning search optimization specialist and a recognized expert in the information design field.
Formerly with Microsoft Corporation from 1999 to 2006, Marianne pioneered development and implementation of numerous search optimization and information architecture improvements on www.microsoft.com, one of the largest and most complex Web sites in the world. Her work was recognized by a Content Development and Delivery Divisional Vision Award in 2002.
"We are very happy to be working with Marianne again," said Ambient Insight’s CEO, Tyson Greer. "Optimizing 'wayfinding' is both a science and an art. Marianne's instincts and expertise in search optimization and information architecture are fueled by her dedication to improving the customer experience, which of course is a major driver of satisfaction with knowledge transfer products."
A deep passion for technology brought Marianne to information retrieval systems and search optimization while working on her Masters in Library and Information Science at the University of Washington. Marianne brings a holistic approach to demand generation and search optimization that focuses on content, code, and a strong linking strategy for search technology today and tomorrow.
"I worked with the principals of Ambient Insight when we were all employed at Microsoft," said Sweeeny. "They share my passion for information architecture and the pivotal role it plays in customer satisfaction. I am excited to be working with them again."
An accomplished presenter and leader, Marianne has shared her knowledge of information systems at the American Society of Information Science and Technology, Puget Sound SIGCHI, and numerous seminars. She is also an active member of Information Architecture Institute, Content Management Professionals, and Women in Digital Journalism. During her employment at Microsoft, Marianne started Microsoft Information Architects, a cross-discipline, global community of practice with over 300 members.
"Marianne's extensive experience in information design will help us migrate clients to more efficient knowledge transfer products and new revenues without replacing current product lines or jeopardizing their legacy business practices or revenue streams," adds Greer.
