Greer Joins Digital Cities Advisory Board as Mobile Technology Advisor

Ambient Insight CEO Accepts Invitation to Join Digital Cities Advisory Board

Tyson Greer, Ambient Insight CEO, has accepted the invitation to join the Digital Cities Advisory Board in the City of Lake Forest Park, northeast of Seattle. Greer will provide expertise on mobile technology, location-based services, security, and privacy. She will also advise the Board on mobile decision support for first responders.

The Digital Cities Advisory Board is working with the Broadband Council Committee to bring wireless broadband services and content to all City residents and businesses at a reasonable cost.

"For a small city with urban forest topography, Lake Forest Park faces special challenges for delivering digital services," commented Greer. The Broadband Council Committee and the Advisory Board are looking into present and future benefits not only for residents and businesses, but also for the City – to provide increased access to City forms, documents, and information as well as emergency services.

Greer was one of a small group of Internet visionaries, technical experts, and financial experts invited by the Broadband Council Committee to form the Digital City Advisory Board. The Digital Cities Advisory Board will strive to answer two questions for the City: What bandwidth will residents, small businesses, and the City need and which technologies can best deliver them?

"The need will be driven not only by the growing appetite for digital entertainment content, but also by the availability of real-time collaboration technologies, location-based learning, handheld decision support, and simulation-based learning for first responders –that are already in the marketplace—that businesses and the City will require," said Greer.

The Broadband Council Committee includes Council Members Don Fiene, Ed Sterner, and Steve Plusch. "The City is fortunate to have forward-thinking Council Members who have formed the Digital Cities Advisory Board to look into competing technologies and vendors," added Greer.
